What is online coaching?
Online training is a new and exciting way for us to provide more effective and cost-efficient body transformation services that can be utilized by anyone from anywhere. Online training offers convenience, responsiveness, flexibility and affordability. We're able to provide more accountability and support than we can in-person.
How do we get started together?
After we make sure we're a good fit for each other, we'll begin with an extensive interview to determine your goals - where you're at and where you'd like to go. From there, we'll design a workout program and nutrition plan that will get you there.
How does online training work?
Workouts are delivered via the Trainerize app. We'll send you a link for you to download the app to your phone or tablet and your workout will be on the app. There are videos included with each technique in case you're unfamiliar with the movement. Trainerize also integrates with the MyFitnessPal nutrition app where we can give you recommended nutrition goals and help with your progress. We're able to track your progress and maximize the results you're getting from your workouts.
What if I need help or have questions?
You'll always have a weekly check-in call where we can discuss any issues you're having, ask questions or we can video chat and demonstrate anything that's giving you trouble. You also have unlimited email support where, as long as you put your questions in bulleted format, you can ask as many questions as you like and we'll answer them for you.
Why can't I get this weight off?
The simple answer is: you're not actually in a calorie deficit. You must burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. Period. It may be that you're eating too much, you're not exercising enough or your daily calorie calculations are incorrect. All of our training plans emphasize nutrition strategies based on your current body composition, your goals and changes we can make that will be sustainable and allow you to enjoy life and food. Do I have to count calories or weigh my food?
It depends on your current body composition and your goals. Someone who is already lean and trying to add lean muscle mass or reduce body fat to extremely low levels will need to be very precise with their nutrition. Someone carrying higher weight and body fat levels can make fantastic progress using one of our plate filling guides to start the weight loss process.
Are there foods that are off-limits?
Not at all. You will need to realize you can't eat whatever you want in any amount and expect to reach your goals. We love food and we love sharing food and good times with family and friends - our mission is to teach you how to do the same while still being able to reach your goals. We'll give you eating guidelines based on those goals and your current body composition and you can enjoy food, eating at restaurants and holidays - guilt free.
What if I've never lifted weights before?
No problem at all. We will start you carefully and slowly using our Beginner to Barbell training program. Novice lifters and those new to structured exercise programs usually see accelerated results - enhanced fat loss, muscle definition and tone with increased levels of energy.
How do I know the program is working?
We're always monitoring your workouts and progress through the app. In addition, we take body measurements at specific times so we can adjust, as needed, to make sure you're getting maximum results. Give it some time and you'll know it's working. There's a saying, "It takes four weeks for you to notice a change in your body, eight weeks for your friends to notice and twelve weeks for the rest of the world." But - they will notice - as long as you do the work and stick to the plan.
Do I need a gym or can I workout at home?
In certain cases, and depending on your goals, it's possible to workout at home. We do have special programs that can be done at home with a small investment in equipment. However, in order to maximize your results, it's best if you have access to a fully-equipped gym. We'll be happy to discuss this with you on our consultation call.
